Three arrested minutes after armed robbery at Co-op in Leeds

Three men have been arrested after an armed robbery at a shop in Leeds last night (Wednesday).

Shortly before 11pm two men armed with a knife and a baseball bat threatened staff at the Co-op, in Aberford Road, Woodlesford, before taking money and cigarettes.

A vehicle was subsequently stopped roads police assisted by the West Yorkshire Police helicopter in the Castleford area.

Three men, aged 20, 25 and 30, from Leeds, were arrested nearby and are in custody.

Police are not currently linking the incident to recent similar raids on convenience shops in Leeds.
