The Post Office, Coral and Heron Foods were all inside the police tape on Sunday, February 16.

People in the area told the YEP that a shoplifter has been injured after trying to escape from a shop.

Police were not able to confirm this.

A West Yorkshire Police spokeswoman provided a statement today.

She said: "Police took a report of an assault at Town Street, Armley at 11am on Sunday 16 February.

"Officers attended, enquiries are ongoing."

West Yorkshire Police did not provide more information.
