Police investigate fight at gym on Leeds Bradford border

POLICE are investigating a fight at a gym which left a 19-year-old man with cuts to his face.

The incident, which is being treated by police as an assault, happened at around 4pm yesterday.

Police said that three people were reported to be fighting in the gym at the Virgin Active club off Dick Lane in Thornbury, between Bradford and Leeds.

Officers are hunting two suspects. No arrests have been made and inquiries are ongoing.

A spokesman for Virgin Active said the gym was closed for three hours following the incident.

Following the incident, Leeds Rhinos player Jamie Peacock tweeted: I can’t do any Sauna-Endurance competing tonight. @virgingym Bradford shut due to a large fight occurring in the gym earlier.. #cantmakeitup”
