Images of the three people found dead at a house in Leeds following a fire have been released.
Joanne Marie Semple, 36, Kelly Taylor-Hackett, 28, and Stephen Fitzgerald, 18, were living at the address on East Park Street, East End Park, at the time of the incident at around midday on Sunday.
Detective Chief Inspector Ian Scott, of West Yorkshire Police Homicide and Major Enquiry Team, said: “We are still conducting detailed enquiries to establish the full circumstances surrounding their deaths, which were as a result of a fire at the property.
“Clearly the deaths of three people in such sudden and tragic circumstances have left their families devastated and our thoughts are with them at this very difficult time.”
The grim discovery was made after a concerned relative called police to the property on East Park Street, East End Park, shortly before midday on Sunday.
A small fire was thought to have taken place at the house and officers were understood to be working on the theory that the deaths may have been due to the effects of smoke inhalation.
A white police tent was positioned at the front of the red brick end-of-terrace property when investigations began.
Residents in the area, meanwhile, have spoken of their shock at the tragedy that unfolded on their doorsteps over the weekend.
