Pedestrian seriously injured after being knocked down by car in Sheffield

A female pedestrian has sustained serious injuries after being hit by a car in Sheffield.

The 38-year-old Sheffield woman was struck by a black Vauxhall Astra that was travelling along Woodrove Avenue towards Prince of Wales Road on Tuesday May 24 just after 5pm.

The injured woman, who was involved in the accident around 10 metres north of Nodder Road, has been treated in hospital.

A 36-year-old man has been questioned by South Yorkshire Police officers in connection with the incident and released while enquiries continue.
