A robber dropped his victim’s phone on the ground – after she chased him to ask for it back.

The 24-year-old woman was in Woodhouse Lane in the city centre, close to the multi-storey car park, when two men approached her and one grabbed her phone.

Police said the victim went after him and asked him to give it back and he put the phone on the ground before running off.

Officers have now issued a CCTV image of the pair following the incident at about 9.15pm on Wednesday, October 14.

It was taken in the nearby subway shortly before the incident.

Det Con Dan Kirby, of Leeds neighbourhood crime team, said: “While only the face of one of the suspects is partially visible on the CCTV image, I think people might be able to recognise them from their clothing and that they associate with each other.”

Both were described as black and aged in their mid twenties.

Anyone who recognises them should call PC Kirby at Weetwood Police Station via 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
