Man charged over Leeds post office robbery

A 39-year-old man has been charged with armed robbery following a raid at a Leeds post office.

The robbery took place on Station Road, Burley in Wharfedale. at about 5pm on Monday, April 15, and was carried out by two men wearing balaclavas and armed with hammers.

Police have described the incident as “very frightening” for the postmaster and other members of the public.

Coroner David Hinchliff, who will retire next year.
