Man assaulted in Castleford park

A 21-year-old man was assaulted and his mobile phone taken during a robbery in Queen’s Park Castleford.

Wakefield District CID would like to speak to anyone with information about the offence which took place at around 5.30pm on Wednesday in Queen’s Park.

The suspect asked the victim for a cigarette and then threatened him when he tried to walk away. He then assaulted the victim and made off with his mobile phone.

The suspect is described as a white male aged 28-34, and of medium build. He was wearing black hoody and had a local accent.

Police community support officers ran extra patrols in the park last night.
