Police are questioning a woman after a 27-year-old man was injured with a knife in Leeds last night.

A police spokesman said they were called at around 8.30pm to Cardigan Road in Burley.

The man was taken to hospital for the treatment of knife injuries to his hand, which were not considered life threatening.

The scene was kept cordoned off until mid-morning today to allow forensic examinations to take place.

A 23-year-old woman arrested in connection with the incident is currently being held in custody.
