Thieves stole family heirloom jewels after raiding an 86-year-old woman’s home as she watched television.

Gold and silver rings of great sentimental value to the pensioner were taken in the raid on her home in Eden Drive, Headingley, on Halloween night.

A distinctive 18-carat gold ring with diamond cluster was among the items taken. It is unique in that it was made from one of a pair of earrings that had been inherited by the victim and similar to the one pictured.
