WITH the arrival of Victoria Gate in Leeds next year, the multi-million pound development is bringing some fancy big brand names with it.
Already signed up to grab a spot at the £150m scheme is John Lewis, which will have a flagship store behind the arcades.
But we’re already starting to see a knock-on effect, with more up-market brands now looking to set up shop in Leeds.
Whereas the pricier names might have previously been confined to the Victoria Quarter area, they are now expanding across the city centre.
Premium denim retailer Denham’s recently opened at the Central Arcade on Briggate and now another quality store is joining the city.
City Buzz understands jewellery and womenswear retailer Oliver Bonas will be taking up a site on Albion Street.
The popular brand will take over the Mr Simms Olde Sweet Shoppe.
It’s a prime spot, and a big name, and with the new Sainsbury’s next door and the New Conservatory recently relaunching with a new menu, it seems this part of the city centre is really pulling it socks up.
