A man who has no recollection of what happened to him was found with serious injuries to his face by South Yorkshire Police officers.

They had been called to Upper Millgate, near All Saint’s Square in Rotherham town centre on Wednesday January 4, where a 32-year-old man was found injured at around 9.50pm that night.

A police spokesperson said: "The man has no recollection of how he came to suffer the injuries, but remembers being in All Saint’s Square near the church a short time before he was found by police. Officers believe he may have been assaulted and are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the town centre that evening."

He was wearing grey trousers, a white shirt and a dark-coloured coat. Witnesses or anyone with information should contact 101 or email enquiries@southyorks.pnn.police.uk quoting incident number 1029 of 4 January 2017.
