A 79-year-old woman suffered facial injuries when she was pulled to the ground in a street robbery.

The victim was on Milan Road, in Harehills, when one of a gang of four men snatched her handbag from her shoulder, causing her to fall to the ground and hit her head.

She is being treated in hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The robber was wearing a blue tracksuit with a white hood. Another of the men was wearing a white top with a stripe across the shoulders.

The four were seen to run off along Ashton Road after the incident.
