Cyclist seriously hurt in Leeds after rush hour crash involving minibus

A cyclist has been left with serious injuries after being hit by a minibus in Leeds.

The incident occurred at the junction of New Side Road and Oliver Hill in Horsforth on Wednesday June 22 at around 8.15am.

West Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after the collision left the 34-year-old cyclist seriously injured in hospital.

Police Constable Paul Smith, of the Safer Roads and Neighbourhoods Support Team East, said; “This incident occurred during the busy rush hour period on a busy arterial route and I am certain there will have been a number of people driving, or using other modes of transport that may have seen either the minibus or the cyclist before the incident, or who may have witnessed the collision itself.

“I would urge them to come forward with information to assist us further with our enquiries.”
