When you think of bingo, it conjures up images of a blue-rinsed generation enjoying the good old British pastime.
But a new version of the game is about to change all that.
Bongo’s Bingo is coming to Canal Mills in Leeds on Wednesday, December 9 after sell-out events in Liverpool.
The chaotic take on the game includes cash prizes, rave intervals and dance-offs, with master of ceremonies Jonny Bongo hosting it all.
Next week’s event will be a festive special and weekly events are planned in Leeds from the end of January 2016.
It’s already proved a hit Liverpool, where it was sold out every week for the past six months, with 700 people turning up and up to 500 people being turned away.
It has also recently been launched at Manchester’s Albert Hall.
Organiser Joshua Burke said: “We still cannot believe the popularity of the Liverpool version and are now having to do two events per week.
“This is no doubt thanks to our amazing host Jonny Bongo who works the room into a frenzy.
“The audience is really broad. Bongo’s Bingo appeals to a huge variety of people who all absolutely love it.
“Manchester has already been a huge success, so now we are coming further north to Leeds and are really excited to be bringing the concept to this great city.
“It’s an insane and unique atmosphere and has turned into a bit of a phenomenon really – it has to be seen to be believed!”
Entry is £3, with doors opening at 6pm.
