WE’RE always boasting about what an excellent and divers dining scene Leeds has – and by that we mean there’s something for everyone.

Take this week, for example. As a new steakhouse opens on one side of the city centre, (read more here) a vegetarian festival is being held on the other.

Veg Out is coming to Northern Monk Brewery this weekend.

With live art, stalls, workshops, games, live music and DJs set over three floors, it’s set to be a jam-packed couple of days.

The popular event has previously been held at Wharf Chambers but has now found a new home at the Northern Monk Brewery on Marshall Street.

The festival’s impressive food line-up includes a range of some of the best veggie and vegan eateries the city has to offer.

Award-winning Manjit’s Kitchen, which has become well-known for its tasty dishes such as chilli paneer wraps and masala dhal, will be serving up Indian street food for veggie visitors.

East Asian offering Dorshi will also be there selling dumplings and sushi.

The Grub and Grog Shop will also be on hand, and pride themselves on using fresh, local and organic produce where ever possible.

Cakes from That Old Chestnut will also be on sale for visitors.

The Veg Out event runs from 12pm to 11pm on Saturday, September 26 and Sunday, September 27.

An after party will also be held on the Saturday.
