A FEW weeks back, City Buzz told you about Leeds’ latest trend – Bubble Tea.
Shops selling the Taiwanese tea-based fruit drink have popped up across the city centre in recent months.
But it seems a new trend may be following hot on its heels.
Not one but two doughnut shops are set to open in Leeds soon.
Doughnut giant Krispy Kreme is opening its doors at Trinity Leeds at 10am on Tuesday, July 28.
The store’s launch will be followed the launch of another store up the road – by rivals Dunkin’ Donuts.
The company is looking to open on the ground floor site, underneath the Pryzm nightclub.
The site on Woodhouse Lane might seem a peculiar choice, but with the sheer number of shoppers and an endless supply of students coming into town, it should do well as a quick sugary snack stop.
Who knows if they’re willing to stay open during the nightclub opening hours, but if they do, they’ll surely be raking it in.
We doubt these will be the last doughnut shops to come to Leeds. If you hear of any more, tweet us @LeedsCityBuzz.
