Police investigating an armed robbery at a Leeds betting shop have released a new CCTV image of a man they want to speak to.

The incident happened on Tuesday, April 8, when a man with a knife threatened staff at the bookmakers on Harrogate Road in Chapel Allerton.

It is thought he had returned to the premises having earlier lost money while gambling.

Detective Constable Andy Herbert, of Leeds district CID, said: “At around 3.50pm on Tuesday, 8 April, a man gambling at a bookmakers in Harrogate Road, Chapel Allerton, lost a significant amount of money.

“He left the premises before returning a short time later with a knife making demands for money.

“He took cash from the till before making off on foot from the scene.”

After carrying out extensive enquiries, police have now released an image taken inside the shop.

Det Con Herbert added: “I would urge anyone who recognises the man pictured in this image to call me.”
