Burglars tried to climb through toilet window after blowtorch break-in failed

Burglars tried to break into a Leeds home by using a blowtorch on the patio doors.

When that failed, they decided to try climbing through a first floor toilet window at the home in Carr Bank, Otley.

Fortunately they were disturbed while still in the process of breaking in.

The incident on Tuesday morning was not the only one this week in which burglars took advantage of an open toilet window.

It proved a more effective method of entry at a home in Tinshill Road, Cookridge.

Burglars ransacked the home and stole jewellery yesterday evening.
