Two burglars were disturbed as they tried to climb in through the toilet window of a home.

Burglars tried to break into a Leeds home by using a blowtorch on the patio doors.

When that failed, they decided to try climbing through a first floor toilet window at the home in Carr Bank, Otley.

Fortunately they were disturbed while still in the process of breaking in.

The incident on Tuesday morning was not the only one this week in which burglars took advantage of an open toilet window.

It proved a more effective method of entry at a home in Tinshill Road, Cookridge.

Burglars ransacked the home and stole jewellery yesterday evening.

Anyone with information is asked to call police via 101, quoting reference 13160355056.

West Yorkshire Police has released details of the misconduct hearing on its website.
