Bail for two arrested over attempted murder in Leeds

TWO PEOPLE arrested on suspicion of attempted murder have been released on bail.

The men, aged 20 and 30, were arrested after a 25-year-old man was shot in Leeds on Thursday.

A police spokesman today said the pair had been given bail while the investigation continued.

Paramedics alerted police when they were called to a report of a man with gunshot injuries in Jackie Smart Court in Chapeltown at around 6.25pm.

Armed officers were sent to the scene to secure the victim, who suffered very serious injuries. He was taken by ambulance to hospital, where he was in a stable condition.

“The victim has received very serious injuries and it is only through good fortune that those have not proved fatal.”
