A £5,000 reward is being offered to help snare the violent rapist who attacked a woman in Leeds before leaving her for dead.

The 18-year-old victim was grabbed at a bus stop on Beeston Road in Beeston on the evening of March 6 before being dragged into a nearby garden.

Her attacker repeatedly bludgeoned her with a rock before sexually assaulting her and then walking away.

Despite an intensive police investigation, repeated public appeals and the publication of CCTV images, the man remains at large nearly three weeks on.

Today (Wednesday) crime-fighting charity Crimestoppers has offered up to £5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible.

The charity’s Yorkshire and Humberside regional manager Gemma Wilson said: “This awful attack has left a young woman with a fractured hip and very serious head injuries, not to mention the horrendous psychological trauma.

“We urge anyone who may recognise this person, or who may have seen something on that day to call Crimestoppers anonymously.

“We will never ask for any of your details, and significantly, you’ll never have to give a statement to police or go to court. So please, do the right thing, call 0800 555 111 and tell us what you know. This man needs to be captured in order to ensure he cannot strike again.”

The man is described as being of Pakistani or Middle Eastern origin, aged in his early twenties, and slim with receding black hair.

He was wearing dark clothing and possibly a light blue top with a hood. CCTV coverage reveals that the man also has a very distinctive walk, possibly even a limp.
