Their crimes include historic sex offences and brutal assaults - and they've all started serving their sentences after appearing in court.
This week, they include a cocaine-fuelled thug who repeatedly attacked his partner months after stalking a previous girlfriend, and a conman who duped frail and terminally-ill pensioners out of thousands with a sophisticated scam.
Noel Heatley, 44, of St Hilda's Mount, Cross Green, was jailed for 16 months and handed a 20-month driving ban after admitting charges of dangerous driving and driving while banned. Levon Halliday, 40, of Greenhill Bungalows, Gamble Hill, was jailed for 45 months after admitted dealing in class A drugs, and possession of a class B drug. It came after the qualified plumber, who had struggled to find employment after being jailed for dealing drugs, "gave in to temptation" and returned to selling crack cocaine. Jamie Brown, 31, of The Green, Castleford, was jailed for 12 months and banned from driving for 66 months after admitting a count of driving while banned, and dangerous driving. Sean Brennan, 31, of Cliffe Hill View, Skelmanthorpe, was jailed for 15 months and banned from driving for two years after admitting charges of making off without payment, dangerous driving and breach of bail conditions. He reached speeds of 110mph in a stolen Renault in July 2022 and was swerving around traffic to escape police on the M62, having stolen petrol from the BP Garage in Castleford earlier in the day. Carling Appleton, 28, of Hobart Road, Castleford, was jailed for 32 months after admitting sexual assault, GBH without intent and theft.
