A colourful community gala in Leeds reached a special milestone with a hugely successful celebration this weekend.
Saturday marked the tenth annual Hunslet Festival, which saw stalls, games and entertainment for the whole community on the field off Grove Road.
This year the festival included a huge inflatable Titanic, a climbing wall, face painting and a host of live entertainment.
A gala event has been held in Hunslet since 1993, when it was originally organised by St Mary’s Church. In 2003 the event became Hunslet Community Gala with a separate independent committee. After two more successful years, to incorporate more events through the year, the name was changed to Hunslet Festival.
