Changes to bin collections

MAKE sure you get your bins out a day early in time for the Christmas collections.

Black bin collections have been brought forward over the festive period, Leeds City Council has reminded residents, except for collections due on Saturday January 1, which will now be emptied on the Sunday.

Festive bin collection dates are:

Wednesday December 22 changed to Tuesday December 21;

Thursday December 23 changed to Wednesday December 22;

Friday December 24 changed to Thursday December 23;

Saturday December 25 changed to Friday December 24;

Saturday January 1 changed to Sunday January 2.

There will be no changes to collections on Bank Holiday Monday December 27 and Tuesday December 28.

Missed bin collections should be emptied within 48 hours, said LCC.

Household waste sites will open throughout the holiday period from 9am to 4pm each day except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day.

Extra skips will be on site for any additional green bin recycling.

Leeds's garden waste collections have been suspended for now.
