A line up of Leeds bars and brew retailers will find out on Thursday if they have pulled a prize at an awards night celebrating craft beers.
Five bars or retailers from across the city have been shortlisted in the Society of Independent Brewers Business Awards 2017.
They were created to congratulate excellence in the brewing industry from can and bottle design to efforts taken by brewers to make their business more successful or eco-friendly. Last year independent craft beer categories were added to highlight work being done by pubs, bars and retailers to promote independent craft beer across the UK.
North Bar and Tapped will go head to head as finalists in the Best Independent Craft Beer Bar or Pub category.
UK’s Best Independent Craft Beer Restaurant sees Friends of Ham and Headrow House make the shortlist and Beer Ritz is among the UK’s Best Independent Craft Beer Retailer for single sites.
Mike Benner, SIBA Managing Director said: “The judges had an extremely difficult task as the quality and quantity of entries was very high as the UK independent brewing industry continues to mature and more businesses set themselves apart from the pack.”
