Cancer fight tot’s family fundraising to say thanks to Leeds charity

THE family of a three-year-old leukaemia sufferer from is raising money for the charity which is supporting her.

Olivia Weston of Pontefract was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia last October and is being treated at Leeds General Infirmary.

Her family has raised more than £5,000 for children’s charity Candlelighters, based at LGI. Her mother, Gemma Weston, said: “Candlelighters really helped us come to terms with the dreadful news. We want to raise as much money as we can to say thank you.” A fundraising event will be held at Willow Park Social Club, Baghill Lane, Pontefract, from 9.30am on Saturday February 21. It will include live music and a visit from Disney characters Elsa of Frozen and Mickey Mouse. To donate, visit www.justgiving.com/gemma-weston.
