YOUNGSTERS Teyha Godfrey, 10 and Casey Hughes, 11, from the Seacroft STAR Project, had their faces painted as Easter bunnies during a canal trip to Thwaite Mills Watermill, in Stourton, south Leeds.
They were visiting to take part in easter fun activities, which continue all week and include canal boat rides. The museum is nestled on an island location between the River Aire and the Aire & Calder Navigation, two miles from the city centre. On Easter Sunday, a spring fair will be held from 11am-4pm with activities including a spring market, boat rides by Canal Connection, bouncy castle, face painting and children’s crafts. There is also a chance to meet the Easter Bunny and take part in a fun trail to help you explore the island and surrounding area.
Thwaite Mills is one of the last remaining examples in Britain of a water-powered mill and is a popular venue for school trips.
