Yorks firms shortlisted in top awards scheme

TWO Yorkshire firms have been shortlisted in a prestigious national award scheme.

The Private Business Awards 2011 have been established by finanical service firm PwC in association with HSBC Private Bank.

Leeds-based Create Foundation has been shortlisted for Social Enterprise of the Year. Create is a not-for-profit company providing training and employment opportunities for people who have been homeless, marginalised or vulnerable.

Northallerton-based Kerfoot Group Ltd has been shortlisted for Employer of the Year. The firm supplies, packs and blends vegetable oil products to the food, catering and technical industries.

The winners in each category will be announced at a gala awards dinner which will be held on September 8.
