A supermarket is playing Cupid this Valentine’s Day by allowing customers to pick up more than just their shopping.

To mark the most romantic day of the year, Asda in Pudsey, is hosting a ‘traffic light’ party.

On Friday staff will be handing shoppers a numbered green, amber or red badge, depending on their relationship status.

Secret admirers can then leave the badge wearer who has caught their eye a ‘love note’ on the store’s Valentine’s Day board.

Manager Neil Fairclough said: “Who knows, we might help a single shopper find their perfect match.”
