The right prescription for company

A COMPANY specialising in medical equipment has been given a tonic by a compressed air products supplier.

Leeds-based Surgical Innovations, which makes laparoscopic instruments used in minimally invasive surgery, has been supplied with hi-tech machinery to boost its production while making vital cost savings.

Thorite, based in Bradford, stepped in to help when Surgical Innovation's air compressor couldn't keep up with requirements. It studied the company's needs and then supplied a bigger and better machine to do the job, slashing its electricity costs by more than 3,000 a year.

And the new machinery also means that Surgical Innovations is now greener too, reducing its carbon footprint by 15 tonnes per year.
