YORKSHIRE butcher Crawshaws has signed up for a slice of the retail action at the Merrion Centre in Leeds.

The firm has put pen to paper on a 10-year lease for a new store at the centre.

Due to open in mid-May, it will be the first Crawshaws outlet in Leeds city centre and will create around 15 jobs. The firm already has 23 stores across Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, Derbyshire and Humberside.

Merrion Centre bosses are also celebrating the arrival of Taiwanese-style tearoom Bubble Bubble at the end of last month.

Helen Green, associate director for Merrion owner Town Centre Securities, said she was “delighted” to welcome Crawshaws and Bubble Bubble.
