A business lawyer has been appointed to the board of Leeds hospitals.

Allison Page is a non-executive director at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, which runs facilities including Leeds General Infirmary and St James’s Hospital.

She is a partner at law firm DLA Piper, based in Leeds, and specialises in advising on public-private partnerships.

She said: “I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to serve on the board at a time when the NHS is facing greater challenges than it has at any time in its history.

“I am looking forward to working with the rest of the board to devise a strategy so the executive is in a position to ensure the trust meets those challenges head on and continues to deliver improvements in patient care.”
