A NEW bar in Leeds is aiming to bring a Yorkshire slant to drinking - and it has the appropriate name of Tyke.

The 4,200 sq ft bar, opening today at The Gateway, has been secured by new owners David Wall, Andy Higgins and Shaun Fountain.

David Wall, general manager, said: “The bar is set to introduce an authentic Yorkshire slant on the Leeds’ bar and restaurant offering, with sports coverage, wi-fi access and an extensive bar selection. We hope to bring a new lease of life to The Gateway.”

The bar will offer a variety of local cask ales working closely with Leeds Brewery as well as offering cocktails, wines and specialist beers.

Tyke will also offer made-to-order home cooked food, free wi-fi access, cash back on site and discounts offered to the 550 residents and occupiers of The Gateway scheme.
