new research has revealed the places on their own doorstep that Leeds locals would most like to visit.

According to new data from the Leeds Marriott Hotel’s Great British Break Report, city residents say The Leeds Industrial Museum and The Thackray Medical Museum are the top two places they’d like to see but have yet to explore.

One in five said the heritage centre was first on their ‘must visit’ list, while one in six admitted they hadn’t seen the medical attraction planned a trip.

The Royal Armouries Museum, Temple Newsham and Leeds Art Gallery were the next most popular attractions Leeds dwellers would like to discover.

Speaking about the findings, Tom Orange, Leeds Marriott general manager, said: “We are dedicated to helping travellers make the most of their time in Leeds so are always interested to learn more about how, why and where people enjoy our city.

“It’s particularly interesting to see there are gems even the people of Leeds haven’t yet explored and it’s encouraging to know they’re still keen to put them on their to-do list.
