DELEGATES from Marketing Leeds have been clocking up the business miles this week as a team begins a three-day visit to Barcelona today.
Yesterday we reported that a team was spending the day in London promoting Leeds to developers.
The Spanish initiative is being run with international trend observers LeLook and Leeds-based Hebe Media. The event runs from today until Sunday.
The Leeds delegation will include a selection of Leeds’s creative talent from fashion designers, musicians to key figures from the creative sector. Their work will be used to showcase the city to an audience of opinion formers from Barcelona.
A spokesman for Marketing Leeds told the YEP: “The creative encounter is another strong private sector collaboration showcasing our city’s talent on the international stage. The 18-strong delegation is sponsored by Marketing Leeds champion Jet2.com. Marketing Leeds funding has enabled the performers to participate and individual delegates fund their own participation in the creative encounter.”
Deborah Green, Marketing Leeds chief executive, said: “Promoting the city’s creativity has become a fundamental component of our strategy at Marketing Leeds. Over the last year we have collaborated on a number of innovative projects such as Leeds in Vancouver with Vancouver Fashion Week and the No Soul for Sale exhibition with Project Space Leeds at the Tate Modern.”
