A WOOL spinning business in Guiseley has bought a bespoke specialist yarn production machine to boost its production.

Laxtons Specialist Yarns’ new machine is only the second in the UK – with the firm owning the other one as well.

This acquisition follows the company’s investment in two other spinning machines, taking its total to 15.

The £1m investment has been backed by Yorkshire Bank’s West Yorkshire Financial Solutions Centre in Bradford.

Laxtons Specialist Yarns managing director, James Laxton, said: “Since launching the commercial wool worsted manufacturing facility in 2010 we have increased turnover by 30 per cent and have created several new jobs as well as safeguarding existing ones.”
