airline Jet2.com helped out school pupils with their Travel Around the World project by sending along senior first officer Sabine Hargreaves to lend them a hand.

The pilot, from Apperley Bridge, is based at Leeds-Bradford Airport and talked to the youngsters about her work.

She said: “It has been a real privilege to talk to the children about my job and my passion for flying and I hope I have inspired some of them in the same way I was inspired as a child.”

As part of her talk, Ms Hargreaves guided the children through a fun role play of a flight to Malaga, assigning the roles of pilot, cabin crew and passengers.

Leeds City Station was among the top five locations for child safeguarding incidents across the rail network.
