Leeds property news: Builder helps village mark Jubilee

Members of Oxenhope Community Association with their donation

BIG plans for a special Diamond Jubilee celebration in Oxenhope near Keighley have received a boost with a £200 donation towards the cost from Leeds-based housebuilder Britannia Developments.

Currently building its Charlotte Court development off Station Road in the village, Britannia presented a cheque to the Oxenhope Community Association which is organising a Jubilee-themed picnic at the Oxenhope Community Centre on June 3.

Britannia’s contribution will help to pay for such things as decorations and tablecloths.

Event organiser Penny Cusdin said: “Our Diamond Jubilee celebration is open to everyone in the village and the school and parish council will be involved too. We are planning a simple format, offering an opportunity for all ages to get together, and we envisage a genuine street party atmosphere. Oxenhope Community Association is very grateful for Britannia’s generous donation, which will make a big difference.”

Britannia’s Charlotte Court development features a range of detached properties and townhouses.
