Uni appoints new head of accommodation
Leeds University's residential and commercial services department has a new head.
Castleford-born Richard Handscombe held a similar role at the University of Manchester but is back working in Leeds just half a mile from his old school.
He will be responsible for building a sales team and marketing the university's extensive conferencing, accommodation and catering facilities to an external and internal audience.
He said: "I've joined at a really exciting time. We're just about to start work on a 35m development of more than 450 en-suite bedrooms in the heart of the campus giving us fabulous high quality accommodation for students as well as conference and meeting delegates by 2011.
"I'm looking forward to building a sales team to help attract conference and events organisers locally, nationally and internally."
