CHRIS Schofield joined Filtronic in December 1995 as company secretary and was appointed to the main board in 1998. He has led every corporate transaction undertaken by Filtronic including its multi-million pound acquisitions of LK Products (value 55m) in Finland and the acquisition of Litton Solid State in California as well as Filtronic’s $170m US high-yield debt issue. He remains responsible for all legal and compliance issues for a group which now operates from 17 sites in the UK, US, Australia and China with over 3,000 employees.
In addition to his work at Filtronic, Chris has, since January 1998, been the founder member of his own firm, Schofield Sweeney, in Bradford. Chris started this firm from scratch with the intention of creating a specialist commercial firm operating in Bradford. The firm now has five partners and a complement of 11 lawyers in total.
