Pledge for 20 apprentices
A COMPANY is looking to take on 20 apprentices in the Leeds area.
Repairs and maintenance business Morrison is working with CITB-ConstructionSkills to set up the placements.
The positions will be awarded this summer.
The apprentices will work on Morrison’s social housing repairs and refurbishment contracts in Leeds which cover 40,000 properties.
The apprenticeships are in maintenance operations and trade disciplines.
Chris Wood, account director for Morrison Leeds, said: “With job opportunities continuing to be scarce we are really pleased to be able to offer 20 placements this year.
“Apprenticeships offer a great opportunity for people of any age, gender or background to start a career from scratch with all the skills they need for a successful future.
“This year’s intake will be our second in Leeds and we are committed to creating apprenticeship vacancies each year for at least the next four years to help bring new talent into the industry locally.”
Applicants will be invited to register with CITB-ConstructionSkills, the Industrial Training Board for the construction industry, which will support and guide them through the application process.
Applicants should send their CV to Morrison Academy, c/o Full Circle Learning, Unit K, The Crofts, Quarry Hill, Rotherham, S60 2DN or sally.r@fullcirclelearning.co.uk. Vacancies are open until June, but applicants are urged to apply early.
Russell Buckley, regional delivery manager for CITB-ConstructionSkills in Yorkshire and the Humber, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for people in Leeds to enter the sector and work within their local community on a daily basis.”
