Packaging firm has people award wrapped up

YORKSHIRE packaging firm Linpac Packaging has been praised for its staff development policies at the Wakefield First Business Awards.

Linpac, based in Knottingley, won the People Make Performance award and received a nomination for the Innovation Award.

Its win recognised commitment to training and development, staff awards and the role of Chris Horton in chairing the National Skills Academy for Process Industries.

The innovation nomination was for 'Linpac Online', the company's new online ordering system.

Potential

One of Linpac's largest manufacturing facilities is in Featherstone.

Mr Horton said: "One of our greatest strengths is our people so it is great to have this recognised. We place a high value on training and helping staff to develop to their full potential.

"With our sites in Knottingley and Featherstone, we are very much part of the Wakefield business community."

Linpac is a multinational firm specialising in food packaging.
