Mansion to be training centre
A VICTORIAN mansion in Wharfedale has been sold and is to be use for adult education and training.
Burley Grange at Burley-in-Wharfedale, built in the 1840s, was bought by Burley Urban District Council in the early 1900s and taken over by Bradford College as a teaching centre. It has been disused since December 2007.
Bradford College has sold the house to Business Support and Development Ltd which is to redevelop the property for adult education training. The facilities are due to open before the end of the summer.
Four new faces in retail display
HALIFAX retail display services group TMC has made four senior appointments: John Earnshaw, 34, has been appointed sales and marketing director; Sean Adams, 45, and Russell Wade, 34, become business development managers, and Steve Mumford, 30, has been appointed operations manager for TMC's sub brand, RS Pro Ltd.
Third World taps are the answer
Staff at the Leeds office of law firm Simpson Millar helped raised 110 for Christian Aid in the city's annual Solicitors and Barristers QuizAid challenge. Teams from the office came third and fourth. The cash raised will pay for two taps providing clean water for communities in Nicaragua plus two beehives for farmers in Bolivia.
North of border
A LEEDS training firm has expanded into Scotland.
Enlightened Training has opened a new centre in Glasgow's Digital Media Quarter.
Clients include government agencies and FTSE 100 companies.
Its Leeds base is in Prince's Square, close to Leeds City Station.
