Long-established firm’s sales boom

ONE of Yorkshire’s oldest firms, Job Earnshaw and Bros of Wakefield, saw a year-on-year increase in retail sales of 22 per cent.

The family business - which runs Earnshaws Fencing Centres in Wakefield, Rotherham and Brigg - sells timber garden products and natural landscaping goods.

The firm’s Rotherham centre saw a 32 per cent increase in retail sales last year.

Retail operations manager Neil Hargill said: “The Earnshaw success story is all the more remarkable as it goes against the downward trend in non-food sales and the growing preference for online shopping.”
