TWO companies are set to take part in some business competition with a difference.

Law firm Clarion and accountancy company RSM Tenon’s Leeds office are set to do battle but the contest won’t be in the boardroom or on the floor of the Stock Exchange. It will be out on the open road!

A team of nine from each firm are to compete against each other in a 170 mile, three day coast to coast cycle ride along the Way of the Roses route from Morecambe in Lancashire to Bridlington.

The challenge is to raise cash for The Being Bel Trust, a charity set up to raise funds for ten-year-old Bel Young from Harrogate who was paralysed in a fall from a climbing frame last summer. Bel is the daughter of Clarion partner Simon Young.

The two teams will set off on September 14.

Partner and leader of the Clarion team Richard Moran said: “As a firm, we never like to turn down a challenge so when the guys from RSM Tenon suggested this ride, we couldn’t refuse, particularly as it is for a cause so close to our hearts.”

As well as Richard Moran, the Clarion team includes Simon Young, Christian Hunt, Mark Burns, Roger Hutton, Ryan Millmore, Leigh Martin, John Mackle and Alice Pratt. The team from RSM Tenon comprises Richard Bright, Keith Marshall, Liam Cotter, Steve Williams, Richard Leach, Ian Gibson, Glyn Thomas, Alan Dunwell and Sarah Nichols.
