HOW a Yorkshireman helped Britain win the 2012 Olympic Games will be revealed in Leeds on Thursday.

Leeds Media is hosting Olympics 2012: The Ultimate Pitch which will offer an insight into how award-winning director Daryl Goodrich helped the country clinch such a global event.

Daryl, from Bradford, will give an exclusive view into the films Make Britain Proud and Inspiration.

He will talk about how he interpreted the brief from the 2012 Committee to create an inspirational "youth of tomorrow" theme which, according to London Mayor Ken Livingstone: "Won us the Olympics".

Joining him will be Martin Havenhand, executive chairman of the Yorkshire Committee for the 2012 Games, who will be at the event to explain how the event will benefit the Yorkshire region.

Also there will be Leeds-based Paralympic medal-winning sprinter, Andy Curtis, together with five times 200m World Butterfly Champion and Olympic swimmer, James Hickman.

Catherine Rees, business and communications manager at Leeds Media, said: "We are delighted to be hosting such a prestigious and topical event here in Leeds. Daryl is an accomplished director and it will be fascinating to get an in-depth understanding on his thoughts and methodology behind his two Olympic-bid winning films."
