Holiday firm is set to celebrate
TRAVEL firm Jet2holidays is five years young - and staff have been celebrating.
The business was launched in 2007 by airline Jet2.com with destinations Spain, Portugal and the Canary Islands but now it sends travellers to 40 destinations across Europe.
Owned by Leeds-based Dart Group, it has 85 staff.
Steve Heapy, managing director of Jet2holidays, said: “When we launched Jet2holidays we wanted to make a difference by offering great value flights and a wide range of accommodation options, all with a friendly service. We are very proud of what we have achieved over the past five years and our rapid growth is a signal that we are meeting our original aims.
“In 2011 we carried more than 200,000 passengers to their chosen holiday destination meaning we are well on track for our 500,000th customer booking this spring.”
He added: “We are bucking the industry trend in the current climate.”
