Financial controller in line for award
A FINANCIAL controller from a Leeds-based design and communications agency has won the Young Enterprise Business Adviser of the Year nomination for the Yorkshire and Humber region supported by The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).
Joe Yates from Logistik won his award for providing business advice to students at Calderdale College in Halifax for their handmade cards, jewellery and candles business, Special Touch Accessories.
The Young Enterprise Business Adviser of the Year award recognises skills, time and understanding which volunteers exhibit in their involvement with schools and colleges.
Student managing director Mudassar Qasim said: "In particular, the visit Joe organised to Logistik's offices really helped us focus on how to define our roles and hold more professional and formal meetings."

Chief executive takes role with Vistage
A LEEDS business leader with a track record for transforming companies' fortunes has been appointed as a chair of Vistage International, the chief executives' organisation.
Ian Howat, who has more than 20 years' board level experience in Europe and the USA, has set up his own group covering the West Yorkshire area.
Vistage has more than 14,500 members worldwide.
