Businesses aim to raise lots of cash in country activities
YORKSHIRE businesses joined forces for a day of competitive countryside activities to raise more than £20,000 for a local hospice.
The Coniston Hotel outside Skipton was venue for the Charity Challenge in which teams from different companies competed to
raise money for Sue Ryder Care, Manorlands Hospice during a spectacular Charity Challenge day. The Hospice, based in
Oxenhope, provides specialist care for people with terminal illnbessses.
The hospice relies on donations for m ost of its annual running costs of 2m. The event was organised and hosted by the Bannister family who own and run the hotel.
They fed the 25 teams, and ended the day with a hog roast.
Activities included off-roading with Land Rover, archery, target golf, clay-pigeon shooting, wand a falconry display.
Tom Bannister, managing director of the hotel said: "We are proud supporters of Manorlands and the fabulous work they do."
