BREAKING: Leeds schoolgirl knocked down

A Leeds schoolgirl was rushed to hospital after she was knocked down on her way to school today.

Police were called to the accident outside Benton Park School, in Rawdon, just after 8am.

An ambulance was called to the scene but the girl's injuries are not thought to be serious or life-threatening.

Police confirmed that the driver stopped at the scene and gave their details to officers.

A spokeswoman from the school confirmed that the girl was a pupil at the school.
